Leadership Hermosa Beach is a nonprofit organization offering community leadership development in Hermosa Beach, California. Through our annual leadership program, community service projects, and alumni network, we help people build the knowledge, relationships, and confidence to make a difference close to home.
Our mission is to educate, train, and connect leaders for the betterment of our community.

Leadership Hermosa Beach brings together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives around a shared interest in serving our city. Participants develop a deeper understanding of Hermosa Beach while building connections that extend beyond the classroom.
Whether you’re beginning to explore community involvement or looking for a new way to contribute, Leadership Hermosa Beach offers a place to learn, collaborate, and put ideas into action.
Our Community Leadership Program
Our annual program combines an opening orientation, monthly evening classes, and a collaborative community service project. Participants learn together, connect with local leaders, and explore how they can contribute to the Hermosa Beach community.
The class project turns that learning into practical experience. Working as a team, participants identify a community need and take a project from an idea to completion. Along the way, they practice planning, communication, fundraising, problem-solving, and collaboration.
The result is more than a completed project. It’s a group of people better prepared to work together and serve their community.

Local Leadership. Lasting Community Impact.
Leadership Hermosa Beach graduates have gone on to serve on City Council, city commissions, the local school board, and community organizations. Others contribute through volunteer service, local businesses, and projects that bring people together.
Each graduating class adds to that impact through a community service project. These projects give participants an opportunity to address local needs while creating something meaningful for Hermosa Beach.
