2017 Class Project

Market 90254 created awareness of Hermosa Beach’s merchants and encouraged residents to spend local. The event was targeted to South Bay locals who understand that supporting local businesses builds relationships and provides community cohesiveness. They know that local businesses help give Hermosa Beach its distinct personality. All vendors and artists were based in Hermosa Beach. There was something for everybody. Guests brought friends, families and dates. This was an event where attendees hung out and spent the entire afternoon. Market 90254 took take place on historic Cypress Avenue, home of the most prominent surfboard shapers of the last 50 years. Market 90254 supported the city’s plan to revitalize and transform the Cypress District into a creative economy, a hub for innovation and public gatherings where ideas, spaces, and creativity are shared. The Main Event took place in and around Hermosa Design, located at 618 Cypress Avenue.
