2004 Class Project

Leadership Hermosa Beach graduate Peter Barsuk joined forces with The Energy Coalition (TEC) as part of the Community Energy Partnership program, to raise awareness among consumers and business about smart energy management skills and practices, essential for a healthy energy future. The 2004 Leadership Hermosa Beach served as the main conduit from TEC to the Hermosa Beach community. As the TEC connection to the community, the class supported TEC’s efforts in a number of ways, such as volunteering at events and hosting the “Torchiere Trade In” where TEC provided new fluorescent torchiere lamps to all Hermosa Beach residents who traded in energy-draining and hazardous halogen torchiere lamps.
